About the scheme
The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has launched a scheme called the Central Assistance for One Time Settlement of Displaced Families from PoK and Chhamb under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP). This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to families who were displaced due to conflicts and have now settled in Jammu & Kashmir.
Objective Of This Scheme
To provide financial aid for the rehabilitation of families displaced from PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) and Chhamb due to conflicts in 1947, 1965, and 1971.
Eligibility Criteria
Families who were displaced from PoK and Chhamb during the mentioned conflicts and are currently settled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
Benefits
- A one-time central assistance of ₹5,49,692 per family.
- An additional state share of ₹308 per family from the Jammu & Kashmir government.
- The total amount disbursed is ₹5,50,000 per family.
Additional Information:
- The scheme was announced in 2015 as part of a larger PMDP for Jammu & Kashmir.
- A total of ₹2,000 crore was allocated for the one-time settlement of 36,384 families.

Required Documents
- Aadhaar
- Proof of having resided either in PoK or in Chhamb.
- Details of Aadhaar Seeded Bank Account.
How To Apply
To ensure accurate identification of beneficiaries, the government of Jammu and Kashmir may require credible and verifiable documents. The state government will then verify these documents and recommend the names of the beneficiaries, along with a copy of their Aadhar card and Aadhar-linked bank account number, to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
